Stacey and Jamie were married at the Elk’s Hall in Spruce Grove. The day brought tears, rain, and finally a beautiful sunset. That’s weather in Alberta for you! Thank you Stacey and Jamie for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful day. We had a blast!
We started the day with the bride and bridesmaids in the Red Earth Salon in Spruce Grove, and witnessed Stacey putting on the largest veil we’ve seen so far. If we have an awards ceremony for our 2007 couples, you’ll win that one for sure!

The bridesmaids chilled with Stacey for a while in the hotel room (complete with Toblerone and gummy worms) and we were off to get some shots of the guys. But wait…one of them’s missing! With moments to spare before we headed back to Stacey, the last groomsman showed up. Whew! Always set your alarm! Finally we got Stacey into her dress, with a few final touches, she was ready.
The dress….the gorgeous dress….

It was off to the ceremony, where a huge group of family and friends witnessed a touching ceremony (note the tear in Jamie’s eye when he see Stacey for the first time). The ring exchange caused a bit of confusion, unbenowst to the crowd – Jamie’s ring had been left at the hotel, but the couple improvised by borrowing one from a relative. No one was the wiser!
First kiss as husband and wife.
Two vases of sand representing two hearts, joining of the couple in marriage.
The couple walked down the aisle to a bubble shower!
We did family and group portraits at Rotary Park in Stony Plain, before it started to pour. The ominous grey clouds behind everyone held a huge amount of rain! We could barely see on the highway heading back to Spruce Grove.

And then it started to rain….
We quickly snapped these shots of the couple on the bridge, then headed for cover.
The food at the reception was amazing, as was the entertainment. Stacey had a suprise in store for her groom, she serenaded him with a love song.
After dinner, we stole the couple away for some more photos outside. The big Alberta sky at sunset just can’t be beat.

Back inside for touching speeches

Special thanks to the couple’s wedding planner, Michelle French from Behind the Scenes Events (www.behindthescenesevents.ca) for organizing the day to run so smoothly. It was great to work with you!
Coming up: a double header – Vanesa and Wayne get married in Waskatenau (where?), and Michael’s sister ties the knot! (We’re not doing the photos though, I’m a bridesmaid!)
