Stacey and Jamie were married at the Elk’s Hall in Spruce Grove.  The day brought tears, rain, and finally a beautiful sunset.  That’s weather in Alberta for you! Thank you Stacey and Jamie for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful day.  We had a blast!

We started the day with the bride and bridesmaids in the Red Earth Salon in Spruce Grove, and witnessed Stacey putting on the largest veil we’ve seen so far.  If we have an awards ceremony for our 2007 couples, you’ll win that one for sure!

The bridesmaids chilled with Stacey for a while in the hotel room (complete with Toblerone and gummy worms) and we were off to get some shots of the guys.  But wait…one of them’s missing!  With moments to spare before we headed back to Stacey, the last groomsman showed up.  Whew!  Always set your alarm!  Finally we got Stacey into her dress, with a few final touches, she was ready.

The dress….the gorgeous dress….

It was off to the ceremony, where a huge group of family and friends witnessed a touching ceremony (note the tear in Jamie’s eye when he see Stacey for the first time).  The ring exchange caused a bit of confusion, unbenowst to the crowd – Jamie’s ring had been left at the hotel, but the couple improvised by borrowing one from a relative.  No one was the wiser!

We did family and group portraits at Rotary Park in Stony Plain, before it started to pour.  The ominous grey clouds behind everyone held a huge amount of rain!  We could barely see on the highway heading back to Spruce Grove.

Michael always has to have the biggest camera in the room ;)

We quickly snapped these shots of the couple on the bridge, then headed for cover.

The food at the reception was amazing, as was the entertainment.  Stacey had a suprise in store for her groom, she serenaded him with a love song.

After dinner, we stole the couple away for some more photos outside.  The big Alberta sky at sunset just can’t be beat.

Special thanks to the couple’s wedding planner, Michelle French from Behind the Scenes Events (www.behindthescenesevents.ca) for organizing the day to run so smoothly.  It was great to work with you!

Coming up: a double header – Vanesa and Wayne get married in Waskatenau (where?), and Michael’s sister ties the knot!  (We’re not doing the photos though, I’m a bridesmaid!)

A bright sunny Friday in August, the Devonian Botanic Gardens, and Darryl & Sam: all the ingredients for a beautiful wedding.  A harpist played during the intimate ceremony.

An intimate reception at the Delta in Edmonton capped off the perfect day.  We enjoyed talking to the DJ, Dave Shannon, during dinner.  The food was amazing!

After several days of rain in Edmonton, the sun came out for Masha and Vip’s wedding at Hastings Lake Gardens, just east of Sherwood Park.  The intimate ceremony in the gazebo was witnessed by a small gathering of family and close friends.  On a hot, sunny day everyone did a great job of not squinting!

After a few family photos we stole the bridal party away for some fun pictures.  Hastings Lake Gardens has so many interesting features, and plenty of beautiful flowers for a backdrop.  Then we let the bridal party go, and focused on our beautiful couple.

Our faux Easter Island shots were fun, it was the groom’s idea to put the rose on the front head…and we can’t ask our bride and groom to get down on the ground without getting down ourselves!

After the pictures were done we drove back into Edmonton for a reception at the Holiday Inn.  The bride did a wonderful job of decorating the room, and everyone had a blast.  She is starting her own wedding consultant business.  If you want her to help you out and have her do your decorations, ask us and we will put you in touch with her.

A rainy Saturday in August was the backdrop for this beautiful wedding at the Fort Saskatchewan Museum.   Mike, Jory, and their wedding party braved the rain under umbrellas while the rest of the guests huddled under the huge nearby trees.

Regardless, the ceremony was beautiful and unique in front of a cute white gazebo.  After the ceremony the sky cleared up and we got some amazing group shots of the bridal party.  We drove back to the city to for some shots at city hall.  Since Jory had already got her dress wet she and the whole bridal party were game to get their pictures taken in the wading pool!  This was a first for us and it was very fun.  We love our adventurous brides.  You never cease to amaze us!

The reception was at the Polish Veteran’s Hall.  The food is amazing.  It is served family style.  The dance was fun.  Below are a few of our favourite shots of the reception.

Enjoy!

Haley and I have created a blog so that we can show couples a sampling of their pictures quickly and so that you can see what we are up to.

Enjoy!
