Today we had a booth at Bridal Expo in the Shaw Conference Centre.  It was a large, well-organized, and insanely busy bridal show!

To all of the brides and grooms who stopped by our booth, thank you, and we are looking forward to seeing you soon.

We pulled out the old point-and-shoot camera to take a couple of pictures of the booth:

Stacey, one of our beautiful brides from 2007, came by to assist us at the booth.  She was a tremendous help and spoke to the brides about her experience with us.  Thank you so much Stacey!

Our next bridal show is Bridal Fantasy in January, 2008.  Bridal Expo was a huge success and we are booking up fast for 2008, so make sure to call us soon!

Before the chilly winter wedding of Megan and Tyler this coming December, we caught a beautiful autumn day for an engagement session at the Legislature.  Megan and Tyler were adventurous enough to climb a tree during the session!  We look forward to seeing you again this winter in Pigeon Lake.

At a recent photo session we had a suprise visit from a passerby that I wanted to share.  Since we do these shoots in public, you never know who might pop into the pictures!  Thanks to this random guy for helping to keep the mood light.

Plotnikoff Family Portraits

September 23, 2007

This is a busy weekend with two engagement sessions and a family session.  We wrapped up the weekend’s work (except for this blogging of course) with the Plotnikoff Family in Glenora.  Luckily, they live in a beautiful neighbourhood so we didn’t need to travel very far to get these fun family portraits.  We’re always lucky when we get to work with such adorable children.

Rachelle & Mike are getting married next year, but braved the chilly fall weather with us for an e-session today.  They met at Woolly Bully’s on Whyte ave, so we went back to the scence of the crime.  They were so relaxed and easy to work with, and we know the wedding will be easy and fun to shoot next summer.

Today we met up with Carrie and Jeremy to take engagement pictures.  Carrie is a family friend (a big hello to the bridge group!) and her father Frans officiated our wedding, so we feel very lucky to be a part of their wedding.

We walked above the river valley in the beautiful old Glenora area.  The day started as overcast with rain, but the sky cleared up and turned bright blue right before we started taking pictures.  The weather has been great for our latest engagement sessions! Carrie and Jeremy were lots of fun to take pictures with.  We are looking foward to working (and partying) at their wedding at the Francis Winspear Centre and the Hotel MacDonald next May.  Here are a few of our favourite pictures from today’s session:

An engagement double-header today!  We met up with Deana and Chris at the Muttart Conservatory to get some Edmonton city-scapes.  Who would have thought it would be so warm on a September Sunday?  For a couple who didn’t think they would know how to pose, these two were really good at it.

We can’t wait for your wedding at the Old Timer’s Cabin next year!

ps: thanks for the slurpee!  It gave me the energy to get the blog posting up ;)

We got to spend some time with Shanna and Brett this afternoon.  They’re getting married next year, but wanted to take advantage of the beautiful Edmonton fall weather for their engagment shoot.  We took them to a local neighbourhood on the southside for some beautiful scenery.

Luckily, Shanna and Brett are an adventurous couple and we got some unique portraits at a construction site.

Shanna and Brett, we’re really looking forward to your wedding next year, you were wonderful to work with!

Shandro Photo will be at Edmonton Bridal Expo this year!  The expo is held at the Shaw Conference Center, and is a great opportunity for all of those brides who are planning 2008 weddomgs to come and see what we have to offer.

 We’ll have a draw – someone will win a free upgrade to a magazine-style album ($500 value)!

Come visit us at booth 87.  We’ll have a special guest joining us!

Shaw Conference Centre, Sunday Sept 30th, 10-5.

See you there!

Michael’s sister Alaina married the love of her life, Brock, yesterday at the Four Points Sheraton in Edmonton.  Cindy Gannon of Metro Photo was their wedding photographer, and has now photographed all three of the Shandro siblings; (Krista, Michael, and Alaina) weddings.  We’re really looking forward to seeing the photos!  We loved the work she did at our wedding, and know they’ll be fantastic.  Michael snapped a few pictures during the ceremony, and we were the unofficial official reception photographers.

Here’s Alaina getting her nails done on Saturday.

Michael’s mom took this picture while we were waiting to get family pictures done.  I think we’ll have to hire her as a Shandro Photo assistant!

Once we hit the reception, the camera was out in full force.  Everyone said we should put it down and have some fun, but we had to explain that we WERE having fun!  We love what we do so much, it’s hard to let it go, even for a family event.

Sitting at the head table definitely has its advantages.  I was able to get some neat shots down the table from where I was sitting, something that’s not always possible at other weddings! (Plus, we got to eat first.)

This is one of my favorite shots.  I took it from the head table, and caught Michael mid-laugh.

The cake was triple-flavoured.  Top layer: chocolate.  Middle: vanilla.  Bottom: carrot.  Absolutely delicious.  From Safeway!

It was a great night!  Thank you Alaina, for choosing me as one of your bridesmaids – it was an honour to stand up for you.  Brock – welcome to the family!
