Andrew Watson - Photo Restoration Project

Posted By Michael Shandro

A little while ago Haley’s Grandmother gave me a portrait that she wanted fixed up.  The picture is of Haley’s Grandfather in his Canadian Air Force uniform circa World War II.  Andrew (Dick) Watson passed away recently and, of course, pictures are some of the most important memories of the family that we have.  There are few formal portraits of Andrew from when he was young.

Here is the original picture.

Air force photography

The picture was faded and had various scratches and folds.  I first converted the photograph to black and white and fixed up the imperfections.

I then felt that the picture would hold more impact if it were a colour photograph so I colourized it.

I can’t wait to present the finished portrait to Haley’s grandmother Jean.

    Thank you Navillus,

We are lucky to get to work with some great couples with very creative ideas. Maybe you will be lucky and get the chance to do snow angels wherever you are at Christmas.
