Jasmine and Aamil Engagement Photography - July 2008
It’s hard to believe that we’re already at the end of July…for some people that means the summer is half over, for us we still have months of weddings to come!
Jasmine and Aamil were recently engaged, and before diving too deep into planning for their wedding next year decided to treat themselves to an engagement shoot.

This one is great - such cool light…

Alison & Sean Wedding Photography - July 26th, 2008
We had the great pleasure to be a part of Alison & Sean’s wedding. Sean’s good friend (and one of the best men) Tim was the MC at our wedding, and we’ve enjoyed getting to know Alison & Sean through him.
Some awesome details…wait until you see the whole dress!

I love the sticker on Alison’s Blackberry. She sent out save the date cards at Christmas time with one of their engagement photos and stickers for guests’ calendars. Great idea!

Boys will be boys….
Rocking cufflinks!

Alison & Sean’s dog Kona was there for all of the action.

Sean waits for his first glimpse of Alison. (Do you think he’s nervous?)

Alison and Sean are huge hockey fans, so we got some shots in front of the Stanley Cup replica at United Cycle.

Whyte Ave provided some great photo backgrounds, and since it was Saturday the Farmer’s Market was in full swing. Sean lucked out when one of the vendors gave him some congratulatory kettle corn.

You can’t walk around Whyte Ave in wedding clothes without attracting some attention.

The lovely (and fabulously colourful) ladies.

Love this shot of the guys.

This is about as formal as the portraits with the ‘ring bearer’ Kona could get!

A beautiful, and hot, outdoor ceremony at the Royal Glenora Club.

Then to the Coast Edmonton Plaza for a fairy tale reception. The decorations, the favours, all of the details were meticulous. Alison’s hard work to transform the ballroom into her ideal reception location sure paid off. The beautiful cake was by Deliciously Different Cakes.

Tim was a great MC at our wedding, and one of many at Alison and Sean’s wedding to deliver a great speech. There were lots of laughs throughout the evening.

One of the groomsmen, Toby, wrote a song and performed it with Sean’s sister (and bridesmaid) Erin. An amazing tribute to Alison & Sean.

This is a great shot of the newlyweds - their fun personality really comes through.

Congratulations, Alison & Sean!
Anita and Jeff Engagement Photography - July 2008
We can’t wait for Anita and Jeff’s upcoming wedding in October. If the fun we had at their engagement session is any indication, their wedding will be a blast! We met them at Louise McKinney Park, where Jeff proposed.

Anita and Jeff are very active and athletic, so they brought their bikes along to the shoot.

Samantha & Brendan - Bridal Fantasy Grand Prize Winners!
Congratulations go out to Samantha & Brendan, the lucky couple from Bridal Fantasy 2008 to win (among other things) trips, and photo shoots!
Our prize for them was a free engagement session with a print. They wanted something a little different, so we scoped out locations in and around Edmonton’s Chinatown.

Best wishes for your wedding this October.
Mike & Oriana’s Engagement Photography - July 2008
Haley’s good friend Mike is marrying his love, Oriana, this September. It’s always fun for us to be able to work with friends, we followed a great Thai dinner and catching up with a photo shoot near their new house.

Running down the hill!

The river valley is an awesome place for engagement photos.

When we came up out of the valley, we saw this amazing sunset. These next photos are straight out of the camera. Super cool!

Kim & Steven’s Engagement Photography - July 2008
We’re really looking forward to Kim and Steven’s wedding, coming up this August at the Royal Alberta Museum. The museum will soon be going into renovations, and they are the last couple who will be married there this summer. Steven proposed to Kim around the area downtown where we took these awesome photos.

Haley’s Maternity Photos with Rob and Lauren Photographers
As any of our couples who have seen us in the last few months will know, Haley’s having a baby! We got to chill out with a couple of our favorite photographers in Edmonton a few weeks ago for dinner and a photo shoot. Thanks Rob and Lauren for amazing photos, and for just being generally awesome.

I got Haley a Coach diaper bag for her birthday, and we couldn’t help but incorporate it into the photos. There’s no reason a mommy can’t be super-stylish!

Ashley & Troy’s Engagement Photography - July 2008
We met up with Ashley and Troy for an engagement session at the recently re-landscaped Louise McKinney park in the river valley.

LOVE this one. Just beautiful.

See you two in September for your wedding!
Kristin & Jason Wedding Photography - July 12, 2008
How cool is this - Shandro Photo got to take wedding photos for a couple in….Shandro, Alberta!! There’s not much left of Shandro now, other than the Historical Village and Museum, and the Shandro Bridge across the North Saskatchewan river; this was the place that Michael’s ancestors first settled when they came to Alberta. It was a very special day for the couple, (the groom’s relatives are also from the area), but for us as well, as we prepare to bring the newest Shandro into the family.

OK, on with the wedding. Always a good idea to start of with a fabulous shoe photo.

The outdoor wedding (on a very hot day!) was held in front of a quaint church at the Shandro Museum.

These two (neice and nephew of the groom) were completely adorable.

The tears flowed freely at this wedding. Jason cried as soon as Kristin reached him down the aisle.

The girls all cried, especially Kristin!

Cool ring shot.

Jason’s dad worked for weeks to prepare the museum grounds for the wedding. Jason’s family maintains the museum, and wanted everything to be perfect for the wedding. It looked wonderful!

There’s nothing like rural Alberta for AMAZING landscapes. We were lucky enough to capture Kristin and Jason in the largest canola crop in years. Kristin wasn’t scared to get her dress a little bit yellow from the canola, our brides will do anything for great shots!

The reception was at the hall in Willingdon, Alberta. There were a lot more tears, and a lot of laughs, especially when Jason’s buddies presented him with a ball and chain they had made for him.

So sweet, Jason’s sister and her daughter.

What better way to end the day, than a nice relaxing massage?
Congratulations you two! Your love was easily felt by all the guests at your wedding.
Elizabeth & David Wedding Photography - July 11, 2008
We started a wedding double-header weekend on Friday. Elizabeth and David couldn’t wait until their ceremony to see each other on their wedding day. We met up with them at the U of A for some gorgeous photos. Their classic looks made for some very romantic pictures.

They didn’t let the rain get them down, and neither did we! We’ll shoot in rain, sun, and snow. Anything for the perfect photos.

Some fun bridal party shots around campus:

Such a cute moment between father and daughter.

Nearly married! Off to the ceremony.

The ceremony was outdoors at the Old Timer’s Cabin, while it started off bright and sunny, you’ll see the weather quickly turned gray, and then poured just as it was finishing.

Everybody inside for the reception! David is from Australia, and Elizabeth is from Canada, so it was only fitting for them to have an Australian and Canadian wine on the tables. (Ironically, they didn’t realize it until we mentioned it to them…) This reception was primarily Elizabeth’s family, and some of David’s close friends who made the trip from Australia to be with them. Another reception is being held in Australia with David’s family.

These are the best cake feeding/smooshing shots EVER. It’s easy to understand why David calls Elizabeth his ‘fun-derful’ wife.

All the rain held a special surprise in store, we snapped a few final fabulous shots outside.

Elizabeth & David, we hope you’re enjoying your trip to Australia, and that all of your friends and family enjoy seeing the photos we captured.
