Kim and Steven are an awesome couple. They were both so relaxed about the wedding, and so content to be marrying each other. Their wedding was elegant and traditional, with some truly fantastic elements, like a Rolls Royce limo!

Spiderman socks at a wedding? You’ll find out more about the wearer of these socks later on in the post. Too cool!

The ceremony was at the Holy Family Parish in St. Albert, a beautiful open, bright church.

I love this look.  “We did it!!”

Some formals at Louise McKinney park:

Kim & Steven have a pet rabbit, so got a shot with the chinese Zodiac rabbit at the park. Anybody want a carrot?

As those of you who follow our work know, we’re not the most traditional wedding photographers. But every once in a while you find a couple, a setting, and an awesome car to inspire you for some beautiful traditional photos. Here’s that Rolls Royce we were talking about! It’s a 1966 Rolls, available from Crystal Limousines.

Our assistant Christy hopped in the back for a little taste of the luxurious life.

This is our favorite ring shot to date.  The hood ornament on the Rolls is the “Spirit of Ecstasy” one of the Flying Ladies hood ornaments, and a signature of Rolls Royce.  So cool!

These two are so sweet together.

Kim & Steven had their wedding reception at the Royal Alberta Museum. It was a wonderful reception location. The museum is heading into renovations, and Kim and Steven were lucky enough to be the last couple to have their reception there this year. We’re looking forward to working there again!

Kim’s mom made their beautiful wedding cake. We love to see family touches at weddings – it makes the day that much more memorable.

And you can’t have your wedding at the museum without a few pictures with the dinosaurs. Awesome!

Remember those Spiderman socks? This is who they belong to – so far the coolest ring bearer we’ve ever seen. Check out his mad dance skills!

Congratulations Kim & Steven!

Oh, this little guy is so adorable!  We had a good time taking some family photos of baby Pierce and his mommy and daddy this week.  Pierce is just over 3 months old.  He was so well behaved during the shoot, and gave us lots of smiles and cute faces.

Pam and Mark’s wedding was a tremendous amount of fun – they are a spirited couple and really easy to work with.  Their wedding was held in the small town of Josephburg, near Fort Saskatchewan.  The tiny church could barely contain all the friends and family celebrating with Pam and Mark.

All of the girls had awesome shoes, Pam’s in front were super cool, with little laces up the back.

And of course, Pam has hot legs to go with those shoes!

A classic shot of Pam getting ready.

Pam’s getting a little excited…

…and here come the tears!

Every detail of this wedding was fabulous.  The whole bridal party looked amazing and elegant.

Pam got ready at her parent’s acreage near Ardrossan, and said a quick goodbye to the horses in her last moments as a single girl.

Here’s Mark, relaxing before the ceremony with the guys - I don’t think Pam would be too impressed to find out the wedding rings were in the pot.

The ceremony was beautiful and intimate, with lots of emotion (and some laugh-cries!).

I love these formal shots of Pam and Mark. Everything seemed to come together – great light, beautiful couple, and a tremendous amount of love.

Pam and Mark had their baby photos at the ceremony and reception – a really neat idea.

One of the highlights – a choreographed dance by the bridal party!

And of course, cake smooshing.

Pam and Mark had an amazing videographer, Walter with Definite Projx.  Highlights from their wedding will be on his blog soon so make sure to check it out. We can’t wait to see the footage!

Congratulations to both of you!

A new little boy!

August 22, 2008

Hi everyone!  We’re very excited an blessed to annouce the birth of our beautiful son Andrew.  As you can imagine, we are going to be pretty busy over the next few days and weeks, and we appreciate your patience if we are a little slow getting back to email and phone calls.

Here he is, hanging out with dad.

Rae-Anne & Yvan’s wedding this past weekend was so much fun, I’m still laughing about the antics at the reception (that you’ll see later in the post). They are a gorgeous couple, and so much in love. A blast to work with!

No, Yvan’s not a GQ model. Yet.

Rae-Anne is absolutely stunning, and luckily trusted me to let me get some really sexy photos of her getting ready.

Cool ring shot.

The tall blond groomsman, Aaron, will be Mr. November in the upcoming Firefighters’ Burn Treatment Society Calendar on sale this coming September. You can find info here. I also discovered that I went to University with Steve, second from the left. Small world!

The ceremony was at the amazing St. Joachim church downtown, the oldest Catholic church in the city.

Intimate portraits in and around downtown.

Bridezilla strikes! These two always were smiling and goofing around the whole day. It’s just the kind of wedding we live for, lots of fun, and totally relaxed.

The reception was at the new Matrix hotel downtown. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a sophisticated and elegant reception location in Edmonton.

The favours were adorable – personalized M&M’s!

So the kissing game was a mimic game, where Rae-Anne & Yvan had to copy another couple’s kiss. There were some pretty crazy kisses during the reception, here’s a sample.

Congratulations Rae-Anne & Yvan. We hope you have a good move to Ottawa, and get to come back and visit soon!

Rachelle & Mike were married at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Leduc, and we got to spend an awesome day with them exploring fields and farms around Leduc for the most amazing photo locations.

Rachelle got emotional during the ceremony.

We found this awesome field, and spectacular skies.

Sometimes the best plan is no plan at all. We stumbled across a great farm with a cool old car and some neat buildings.

The reception was at the Devon Golf and Conference Centre. We stole Rachelle & Mike away for some stunning light in between dinner and the speeches.

Our couples lately have been going crazy with the cake cutting. I feel like we should have a contest!

“Don’t even think about it…”

I was able to have an awesome second shooter with me for Rachelle & Mike’s wedding, James Day from Australia. Here are a few of our favourites of James’ shots.

Congratulations Rachelle & Mike!!

I had the pleasure of having James Day along with me to shoot Rachelle & Mike’s wedding (which you will be seeing in a post very shortly).  He’s an awesome photographer from Australia, and we had some fun with crazy portraits of each other late in the night.  This is why we have lighting at the weddings!

Here are my two favourites of James (he really doesn’t look this scary in person!):
