Before I get to the awesome pics of Jess & Jer (or JJ as we may be loving calling them around the office…) I have a small world moment to share with you.
WAY back in 2006 (can’t you believe it’s almost 2009 now??) we did an engagement session at the John Janzen Nature Centre. Well, sort of. We were waiting to get in to Fort Edmonton Park and had about 15 minutes to kill, so we headed over to check out the John Janzen. We found this great area with a trellis and beautiful flowers, and asked permission of the staff member working there if we could shoot there for a few minutes. We gave her our card, and she told us a bit about the area, that the plants were growing in compost etc, and we thanked her for letting us use the space.
Fast forward to last month, and we sat down with Jess & Jer to talk about their wedding this coming summer. We knew her face, and recognized her name, but couldn’t place it…turns out, she was the one we met at the Nature Centre, she had kept our card all this time, followed the blog, and when it came time for her own wedding she looked us up again!
So this is a shout out to all of our blog followers – thanks for reading, we hope you enjoy all of our little commentaries, and maybe someday your story will be one like Jess & Jer, and you can see your own faces up on the blog!
OK, on with the photos.
This super cute couple brought so much energy to the shoot, it was so easy for us. I think Jess has a perma-smile! Jeremy proposed at the Alberta Legislature, and they wanted their engagement photos there so that we can explore some other awesome (and less crowded) locations on their wedding day. We found some new funky places to shoot on the grounds (always a fun thing!).

Here’s one way to stay warm…

JJ – you now have your own place on our blog, and we can’t wait for your wedding!
