Zaika Bistro/Summerside Asian Market

October 9, 2009

For those of you out there craving some pakora, an awesome new Indian restaurant and an Asian Market have recently opened in south Edmonton that Michael took commercial photos for. Zaika Indian Bistro Bar and Summerside Asian Market are located on the south side just off the Henday and 91st street. We’ve eaten there many times so far, and the food is SO good. Make sure to check it out! The market is run by one of our favourite couples from last year, Ashu & Garry, and the restaurant by Ashu’s sister and her husband!

And this is my favourite – we took Andrew (who is officially walking now!) to the shoot, and he loved shopping there!

    You DO all have to check it out. Haley and I went there for lunch today and wow, was it good. They had chili fish which was Haley’s favourite dish (and for some strange reason she doesn’t usually eat seafood, but this was good enough to make her love it)! The mango chicken was a unique treat and was my favourite today. Andrew loves the naan bread, rice pudding, and gulab jamun.

    Love the shot of Andrew! The rest of the photos make me miss living in the city! (You can’t really call Lethbridge a city). Oh, man, I wish we had places like that for photos here. And for eating, I suppose. But the photos are more important. ;)

    What a great market! Great website, super friendly and helpful. I dont eat seafood but fish pakora is my new favorite, thanks for the recipe!
