We’ve been part of a long journey with Deepak & Poonam, from his proposal scavenger hunt, to their engagement party this year, and now a late-night summer portrait session. Their wedding next year will be amazing! I know that we have reached a significant point in our professional relationship because the last time they came over I was in my pjs and I didn’t mind them seeing me. We love these two!  Check out these images that Michael created with them.

This wedding was amazing and we are very excited that it has been featured on the web and in print by Hot Pink Brides, and in Blush Magazine!!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Michelle & Greg. From Michelle’s amazing style to Greg’s fun attitude, and their mutual total hotness. Their wedding was a dream to photograph, and every time I hang out with them I always have a great time. I just showed them their wedding album design, and it was an absolute joy to share the images with them.

Without further ado: Michelle & Greg.

I love Michelle’s dad – we had some good times while Michelle was getting ready. He’s super funny!

I couldn’t help myself but to send them this photo right after the wedding – I think it was both of their Facebook profiles within seconds. Michelle was the only bride to order this dress from Allure Bridal this year, and it suited her perfectly.

The Art Gallery of Alberta is always a gorgeous backdrop for photos.

This is my favourite image from the entire wedding. Probably one of my favourites of the year.

Thank you two so much for being amazing clients.

As the summer weather disappeared, we made the journey up to Whitecourt, AB to celebrate with Tiana & Warren.  The weather was, well, pretty bad.  We actually saw snowflakes part way through the day. But nothing could diminish Tiana & Warren’s joy.

It had been a while since Michael and I photographed a wedding together, and it was really nice for us to have a road trip and spend the day together with a wonderful couple.

The wedding was very intimate, with a really awesome brunch reception at the Holiday Inn in Whitecourt. I love the idea of a brunch reception – who doesn’t love brunch? Tiana put a tremendous amount of effort into planning this wedding, and her thoughtfulness is apparent in the beautiful decor.

This amazing spread was put on by Whitecourt caterers Taste Buds.

Tiana is one of those brides who doesn’t realize how absolutely stunning she looks – after I showed her this photo she said, ‘Oh wow!’ and relaxed completely.

We’ve been working with Stephanie recently on a fantastic project. Two new elementary schools have been built in Terwillegar but the community is responsible for raising funds for the playground. Stephanie is heading the fund-raising efforts, and has been doing a fabulous job. As part of our contribution, along with a personal donation, we are donating 25% of all photo sessions booked by the end of September, 2010 (they can be shot later) with Terwillegar residents to the playground fund.

Stephanie, her two adorable boys, and her mom, took the opportunity to get some updated photos while her mom was visiting this summer.

If you live in the Terwillegar area (Terwillegar Gardens, Terwillegar Towne, Sandalwood, or South Terwillegar) and you need new family photos, make sure to come visit us and you will be helping a great cause! You can learn more at www.tsnapedm.com

Haley spends a lot of time posting on our blog, so I’m going to give her a break and post a wedding of mine.

You’ll know from Holly & Ben’s engagement post that this was a very emotional wedding – Ben will shortly be moving away and they will start a long distance relationship for a while. We hope these images will bring them lots of joy while they are apart.

Special thanks to Jennifer Bergman of Jennifer Bergman Weddings for doing day-of wedding coordination for Holly & Ben!

I got a real kick out of going to Eveline Charles in West Edmonton Mall for Holly’s hair and makeup – my pictures were everywhere.

Holly looked beautiful in her dress and the colour scheme in their house is great.

I love the photos from Holly & Ben’s reveal (or, first glance) – they chose the Timm’s Center at the U of A, which was perfect with the big sweeping staircase.

Holly asked that I make sure to keep a few of the bloopers from the wedding – this is one of my favourites.

Holly has a quick touch-up before the ceremony at Ben’s family acreage.

The reception back at the Fantasyland Hotel was full of funny speeches, and fun games.

This game was for the prize of the garter.  All single guys had to dance with these bags on their head, and Holly would choose who was the best dancer.  She eliminated dancers by taking the bags off their heads, and in the end Ben was the best dancer.  Although it might have been rigged…

They had a really fun DJ (Joe) who helped out with the games, you can contact him at info@platinumdj.ca

Thank you Holly & Ben for welcoming me into your wedding. I had a great time with you and your families, and I wish you love and happiness in the next stage of your life together.

Sometimes you don’t even have to leave town to be an international photographer. Sonya is here from Chicago to be married next weekend to Amrik, who lives in Vancouver. Needless to say Sonya has been working tirelessly on logistics for this wedding, and I think we should all give her a round of applause for her hard work.

We explored the U of A for their engagement photos. These photos are going to be compiled into a beautiful custom signing album for their wedding.

I’ve been lucky to have seen Joanne and Colin so often before their wedding – they did all of their wedding planning from their home in Lethbridge, but made the trip up to see me. Those of you who have been through the wedding planning process will understand how difficult that must have been. When the wedding day arrived, you’d never have known – every detail was perfect. Joanne had the wedding of her dreams, complete with pink everything. And Colin…I have to say a quick word about Colin. Colin is an awesome husband, any man who can rock a pink wedding is a true man in my opinion.

The Robertson-Wesley United Church in downtown Edmonton is a beautiful ceremony location.

After the ceremony, we took a quick trip downtown for photos. I’ve got to say, I’m pretty excited about this group shot.

I asked Christy to get a ring shot, I had the idea that she might be able to get a reflection of the rings in the puddle. She did get the shot that I wanted, but also got this one, which I love as well.

Joanne’s dad’s acreage in Sherwood Park has an amazing backyard that would rival the Devonian Gardens.

This was my first time at a function at the Snow Valley Ski Club. The room was transformed for the wedding and the food was fantastic! I’d love to go back for another wedding.

Congratulations Joanne & Colin!
