Archive for December, 2010

We had to keep these photos under wraps – the MacKenzies wanted to surprise their family with these photos as gifts at Christmas. Kudos to Mom for styling her family for this shoot – I love the wardrobe that she picked out for everyone. We hope all of our clients and fans had a fantastic holiday together!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I’m going to take this opportunity as well to wish all of our friends, family, clients, clients-to-be, colleagues and vendors a very happy holiday! 2010 was an incredible year for our family and our business and we can’t wait to see what 2011 holds for all of us.

This little guy arrived just in time to celebrate Christmas with his family – the best present they could ever imagine. This shoot is made even more special by the fact that Toby is the son of a dear friend and fellow photographer Rachel, and I can’t wait to spend more time with him in 2011.

My colleague Christy was also there for this shoot – you can imagine the cute hats and blankets you can use when you get three photographers together!

Our order of operations at the studio goes something like this: clients orders, relatives orders, our own family photos. We still have photos of Andrew from when he was a baby that are waiting to be edited and ordered (hopefully we can rectify this over the holidays)! Michael spent an afternoon with his sister Krista and her extended family and we have finally ordered all of their prints and canvases (just in time for Christmas!)

This little family is about to get bigger! Michael’s sister and her husband are set to welcome their second baby in April next year. They commemorated their little one’s first birthday with some updated family photos in our studio.

We’ve been the photographer for the Miles family for a year now, as well as their business The Smile Spot. These updated fun family photos were perfect for their Christmas cards this year!

This cute little one is nearly 6 months old, and was a doll to work with. One of the wonderful things about little girls is the adorable dresses they wear. Such a cutie! Thanks Mom and Dad for bringing her by the studio.

The more I photograph cute little newborns, the more excited I get for our own arrival in January/Feburary! This little girl was born to a wonderful mom who introduced me to Stella & Dot, and sponsored a prize at our studio grand opening this past May. If you need some fantastic jewelry, check her out here.

What a sweet little guy…

Baby Vaughn was the first response to my newborn casting call and couldn’t have been a better model. He let me try all kinds of poses with him and gave lots of cute little smiles while he slept.

Little boy H’s mom bought a gift certificate to our studio to support our local playground fundraising initiative. Her goal was to get some cute pictures of her boy to hang in his room. It would be really hard not to get adorable photos of this little guy! He was a big fan of our son’s train set – it put him at ease in the studio.

The Correa family lives right up the street from us, and we were delighted to work with another family from our neighbourhood!  The littlest one was a bit shy around our studio lights, but a 7 month pregnant woman doing jumping jacks (me) was enough to get a big smile on her face.  Because of the father’s job, this family moves around a lot, and it will be really nice for them to have great family portraits to put up on their walls wherever they live so that they can remember their time in Edmonton.
