Our Family

April 29, 2011

Prior to our Mother’s Day Mini Sessions, we hosted a NAIT Student Intern Amber for a week. Although we didn’t attend NAIT ourselves (we’re both self-taught photographers), we are happy to support the education of photography students through NAIT and give them a glimpse into a full-time photography studio.

As he was setting up for the shoots, Michael thought to use Amber as a model to test out the lighting. And then it occurred to him that we should use her expertise to update our family photos! So a big thank you to Amber for these photos (and all the other work you did with us while you’re here).

Here are a few shots from Michael’s recent shoot for the St. Albert Inn. Special thanks to our amazing stylist Nikolas!

Due to some admin errors with ordering from her high school, Claire wasn’t able to get her yearly photos from her school. Fortunately, she happens to be related to some awesome photographers… we were happy to have her in the studio.

I love Claire’s style and confidence.

It was also the perfect time for some updated family photos!

Sasha had a special photo shoot with her son to capture this stage of his life. Her son is definitely a happy, and sometimes goofy kid – tons of fun to work with! It’s great to see his personality shine through and let him do what he wanted for the photos.

Our poor neglected blog…I’m sorry to keep you all waiting for new posts! The last month has been packed with shoots, meetings, and trips. Some of the most exciting news will be on the blog shortly – Michael recently won a big award from the Professional Photographers of Canada! I’m just waiting to get the photo from the convention and I’ll blog about it. In the meantime, please enjoy these images from our Mother’s Day Mini Sessions, held at the studio in early April.

Special thanks to our makeup artist Beth for making our moms look so beautiful! (And congratulations to her on her recent engagement!!!). If you’re looking for a makeup artist for your wedding or other photo shoot, let us know and we’ll connect you with her.

I first met baby Ryan is his mommy’s tummy – she was involved in a wedding that we shot back in June, and was very recently pregnant. Several months later, I welcomed him into the studio for his first photo shoot.

What a sweet little guy – and check out all that hair!!
