Mom describes these kids as her ‘little rockstars’ and it’s easy to see why. They’re so full of fun and personality. I knew these pictures were going to be a bit different when I heard Michael blasting Ozzy Osborne in the studio….for a session with a baby and toddler… These photos were a surprise for her boyfriend and family for Christmas, which is such a fantastic idea.
We are thrilled to announce that Shauna & Troy’s wedding was featured on the WedLuxe blog! As Canadian wedding professionals know, this is a huge honour – WedLuxe is one of the most prestigious and glamorous wedding publications in the country. We worked with an amazing team of vendors on this wedding, and most importantly a fantastic couple. Shauna & Troy were a dream to work with from start to finish, and their wedding was divine. Shauna & Troy met as neighbours. I want to share a quote from a letter that Shauna wrote to Troy after a couple of dates. She said to Troy “you light me up from the inside out”. That’s true love – that’s something amazing.
I loved working with Ashley & Scott (and their big chocolate lab Bruce). Ultra stylish, stunning good looks, and up for anything. They placed their total trust in me during this shoot, even when it started to pour. We’re really looking forward to their Jasper wedding next year!
Every time we work with Kristina from Event Planning Headquarters we end up having a great time, eating cupcakes, and planning our next project (speaking of, another one is coming up soon!). This shoot from earlier this year has been featured on Style Me Pretty Canada, and Wedding Obsession! Kristina’s creativity is unparalleled, she pulled together so many unique elements for this shoot. The team had to deal with mosquito swarms and wind storms, but we pulled it together.

Jeff & Justin are adorable. They are so in love, and every time I spend time with them I have a big smile on my face. They were married at Robertson-Wesley United Church, and their pastor made a lovely speech about how proud he was to be a part of a gay marriage held in the church, and how happy he was that the United Church sees fit to celebrate all love and unity. We couldn’t agree more.
I hope they don’t mind me sharing something beautiful that they wrote about their wedding:

Justin is such a doll, he had a minor button crisis while getting ready but my sewing skills came in handy. He was pretty nervous prior to the ceremony, which only showed how much he loves Jeff.
Jeff has connections with the military and also the RCMP so there were quite a lot of uniforms at the ceremony. This was our first Arch of Swords!

I’m already looking forward to Ava’s 1 year pictures, she and I have become good friends already. I love seeing her little face light up, and she is her Mommy and Daddy’s little princess.
Sometimes people ask us what we do in the winter. I have to giggle a bit because there’s a bit of a misconception that wedding photographers don’t work in the winter (in Canada anyway). Shoots like this are just one of the answers to the question – our studio keeps us busy all year round with family photos, newborns, headshots, and other shoots. We love it!
Ashley is a fantastic wedding planner (Simply Unique Weddings) and we’re looking forward to working with her for Blakely & Jennifer’s wedding in 2012.
I was so excited when Ashley announced she was expecting and have enjoyed seeing photos of their little one on Facebook. She’s around 5 months now, and we were fast friends. Congrats you three!
Alastair and I attended high school together, and I’m thrilled that he has a great career as a doctor, married a wonderful woman, and now has welcomed a beautiful baby daughter. It’s always great to see classmates achieving success. I welcomed Alastair’s family (including his mom and dad) into the studio while they were in town for a short visit.
This family came from all over the country to meet in Edmonton and have an extended family portrait. As I’m posting these I’m already dreaming of summer again. The little guys are so adorable, and so fun to work with!
