July 30, 2012Nitu and Neel Headshots in Edmonton
July 29, 2012I received a call from Neel about doing headshots, then the next day his sister Nitu called and asked for headshots too. Neither one knew that the other one called! I booked them in for the same time and we had a fun session in the photo studio together.
When we were finished with the headshots Neel mentioned that he wanted a funny picture for his Facebook profile. We went hunting through the studio for props and my set of tablas caught his eye.
*update – after seeing Neel’s photos on Facebook, one of his classmates came in for a headshot as well! Here’s Jenna:

July 27, 2012Andrea & Blake – Edmonton Wedding Photographer
July 26, 2012Andrea and Blake had such a fun wedding. Blake and Andrea are full of personality and it really shows in the kind of pictures that we took. It was Andrea’s idea to go to a pool hall, and I love the group shot we got there. Andrea was gorgeous on her wedding day, and the pops of purple colour throughout the wedding made for a vibrant day!
One of the wedding guests is an ETS driver, so they had an awesome custom charter ETS bus to tour them around. (Thanks Melissa for this great shot!)
This chalice personifies Blake.

July 25, 2012This little sweetheart visited me when he was 12 days old. He joins two older sisters, and his mommy and daddy are very excited that he’s here!

July 25, 2012Suneina & Summit – Engagement Party
July 24, 2012The preview post of Suneina & Summit’s engagement party that we put on our Facebook page has been the most viewed of any post we’ve ever put up! So we know that this couple has a huge network of family and friends who love and support them. This summer they celebrated their official engagement and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year!
Shaira & Aly – Edmonton Wedding Photographer
July 22, 2012You’ve seen a few posts about Shaira & Aly on the blog. From their engagement last year, to a fall portrait session, and now finally their wedding, I’ve loved spending time with these two and their families.
I know they say that opposites attract, but when it comes to our couples I think the opposite is true – the couples we work with seem to have the same fun and quirky personalities as us, which usually makes for a pretty entertaining wedding day. Shaira & Aly currently live in Toronto, but if Shaira has anything to do with it they’ll eventually move back to her hometown of Edmonton.
Reception: Derrick Golf & Winter Club
Cake: Triple L Cakes
Decor: Infinite Event Services
Chair Covers & Sashes: CJ Chair Covers
DJ: Divinity Productions
I started the week with Shaira’s mehndi.
After a few more events it was on to the wedding day! Christy and the guys prepped in west Edmonton, and then Aly came to pick up Shaira from her parents home.
We headed to the U of A for a few photos before the ceremony.
The Muslim wedding ceremony involves signing a marriage contract, the recitation of the Nikah, and the placement of rings on the couples fingers by the officiants.
After the ceremony, Shaira & Aly had a quick clothing change, and went on to the reception at the Derrick. Check out their unique favour idea – they were a hot commodity at the wedding!
A few games kicked off the reception – the coins that Shaira collects represents fertility (I’m sure her mom won’t mind a few grandkids!), and her brother Rahim was the proud recipient of a custom bobble-head doll among some other gifts.
The Derrick presented an amazing patio buffet for the reception.
Divinity Productions got the party started!
Congratulations Shaira & Aly! We need to have another photo shoot in a few months or I’m going to into withdrawl. Thanks to Christy for shooting with me and a few of the photos in this post.
