This was Michael’s second time working with the Spoletini family, and this time the whole extended family came! Some members traveled from Calgary so it was wonderful that the fall weather was cooperative. And all the kids had a great time playing in the leaves!

What says summer more than a fire, s’mores, and a warm sunset? Part two of Alison & Sean’s four season’s project ended with the three of us after the shoot chatting around the fire and eating s’mores until the sun went down. Their fall shoot is already scheduled, I can’t wait to see how their acreage looks with the fall colours!
We had a few little mishaps with the s’mores….

As much as we all hate to admit it, fall in Edmonton is fast approaching! We are heading into prime family photo season, but not all families necessarily want to have golden leaves as a backdrop. Sometimes it’s great to switch it up with something urban and funky! The Harrington family did just that for their updated family photos.

Our schedule is quickly filling up with family shoots! I hate to think about fall coming, but the summer in Edmonton is blowing by, and there are so few beautiful evenings left in our future. Michael spent one of them with the Bennett family. The kids got to do one of my personal favourite summer activities in Edmonton – pick wild saskatoons!
Karen and I have known each other for 5 years – we were in the same new mom’s group when our sons were born ! It’s shocking to me that 5 years have passed and our boys are now on their way into kindergarten. It seems like a lifetime ago that we were learning the essential tips and tricks of very new motherhood. I’m happy we kept in touch! Karen, Scott and their boys have a beautiful little family, and they love the neighbourhood that they live in so much we spent a fun summer evening exploring it. The boys were such cuties! Full of attitude and personality!

This time of year everything is happening at once. We’re knee-deep in weddings, couples are booking for next year, and because the weather in Edmonton is only nice for so long, we’re shooting family portraits as well.
We’ve made a slight adjustment to our process, and from here on out Michael will be primarily shooting our family sessions, and I will focus on maternity and newborn sessions.
However, when my good friend (and ridiculously amazing boudoir photographer) Jennifer Williams asked me to shoot her extended family how could I say no? Plus we got to go shopping together so that’s always good =) Jen’s mom had no idea the shoot was happening and I think it was an awesome surprise.
