Every once in a while a photographer will have a shoot that is just perfect. You have a great connection with the client, flowing inspiration, beautiful weather and location, and everything just falls into place.  That’s how Nicolette’s session went, and I walked away from it with such a high.  The images aren’t elaborate or cutting edge, and they don’t need to be. She loves them and that’s what matters most.

Nicolette’s little guy came along to help her celebrate her graduation.

Coincidentally, someone just had a birthday….and what’s a birthday without cake? I figured I could win him over with a cupcake. It turns out he liked me anyway, but the cupcake didn’t hurt!

Thank you Nicolette, I had a great time with you and your family!

Due to some admin errors with ordering from her high school, Claire wasn’t able to get her yearly photos from her school. Fortunately, she happens to be related to some awesome photographers… we were happy to have her in the studio.

I love Claire’s style and confidence.

It was also the perfect time for some updated family photos!

You might recognize Alison from our blog – she married Sean 2 years ago and we were there to celebrate with them! Now we’re helping her celebrate another milestone in her life, graduation. She completed two diplomas in two years! Alison didn’t want ‘typical’ grad photos and we were happy to oblige.

We’d like to congratulate Merlin on her graduation from the University of Alberta, and thank her for choosing us to capture the special day for her. Graduation photos are starting to change – you don’t need to have the stiff posed studio portraits anymore – have a bit of fun with it! We have another grad coming up on the blog soon, and we hope to see many more next year.
