We have been residents of Terwillegar Gardens for a year and a half now, and we absolutely love the neighbourhood. There are two new schools opening in Terwillegar Towne (one of which will be Andrew’s elementary school!) These days, the new schools are developed without playgrounds, and the community needs to come together to fund-raise and develop their own playground.  An amazing group of parents in Terwillegar is doing just that, and you can find more about the initiative here.

We want Andrew and all of the other kids in the Terwillegar to have a great playground, and we want to help make it possible. We were going to simply make a donation, but we thought we could do better than that.

What we decided is that we are going to donate 25% of every photography session that we do with Terwillegar Residents to the development of the playground. We hope this will encourage our neighbours who may have been thinking of having family photos done to visit our studio and help build an awesome playground in the process.

If you are a Terwillegar resident, please contact us before the end of August to arrange your session – all of the details are below. We look forward to working (and playing) with you!

Little Aadi was such a great subject to work with! This cute little guy has the best playroom ever, and loves reading books with his parents, What a fun family! Thank you for welcoming me into your home.

Just after Christmas we spent a very energetic hour with the Watt Family. All of these boys are cousins! It was great to see them all playing together.

We spent a fun morning with the participants in the first session of Mommy Connections this past week! We are one of the sponsors of the program, and took ‘Mommy and Me’ photos for all of the participants. They’ll each receive a free 5×7 at the next session.

We’d like to thank Carol, the founder of Mommy Connections, for giving us the great opportunity to meet these amazing moms!

Mommy Connections is a great way for new moms to meet each other, educate themselves about motherhood, and learn about great opportunities available to moms. Registration for the March session is open now!

Here is a sneak peek at some of the moms.

It’s a small world: we met Brittany when we presented to the October Wedding Planners Institute of Canada class…

…and we are a HUGE fan of Ailynn and her husband Ken, who operate Whimsical Cakes!

I’m so happy to introduce you to Mommy Connections. Due to H1N1, Alberta Health Services has suspended the new mom’s sessions, and have been having trouble finding spaces for current new moms to meet with other moms and attend sessions focused on their new babies.

A wonderful new mom that we know very well, Carol, established Mommy Connections for all new moms on the Southside. It’s a fabulous program and we’re very happy to support it. We’re going to offer free photography at the first session of each course!

The first class starts January 7th, 2010. More information can be found at www.mommyconnections.ca, or you can email mommyconnections@gmail.com

And, this is a great excuse for me to post a photo of Andrew – he’s an absolute joy and I was very lucky to join a new mom’s group with him when he was little. An update for all of our blog followers – he’s walking everywhere now, climbing all over the furniture, and talking like mad!

Michael’s family is huge, and growing all the time. The Baird/Harrisons are in Michael’s extended family, and he was very pleased when they asked him to do family photos. It was just before their daughter started kindergarten, a big milestone for this little family.

We celebrated with Meenu and Tony the impending arrival of their first child! In typical Indian style, the baby shower was incredible, full of fun games, beautiful decorations, and, of course, performances and dancing. We can’t wait to see this little one’s first birthday party!

There was a fierce game of musical chairs…

…and awesome dancers:

One of the guests was an incredible stylist we have worked with before, Shana Verma, and her husband. This gorgeous couple was celebrating their wedding anniversary the same day!

Congratulations Meenu (on the left)! A special shout-out to Angela (on the right) who Michael has known since University. She threw the amazing bash!

Tanner wasn’t so sure about getting his photos taken with his cousin and mom, but he warmed up to the session…eventually. We took his photos near his school, it was his idea (with a little help from mom).

I had a hard time finding Tanner during the shoot – he loved to run around, and play in the trees and bushes.

And when Tanner was done, the shoot was over.

I was so honoured to work with the Williams family. They officially adopted their son after having welcomed him into their hearts and home several years ago. It was so obvious from spending time with these three that they were meant to find each other, and to create this new family.

Why is baby Lucas so adorable? Just look at his parents! This beautiful boy arrived on Canada Day with much anticipation from the whole family. We are so happy to have a new nephew.

I love his hat – what a cute little man!

Normally we don’t put pictures of people’s bums on our website (they don’t tend to show up at many weddings!), but I love this little bum. I just want to squeeze it!  Baby bums, toes, and hands are so precious.
