Before I start this post I want to first extend our heartfelt condolences to Rupinder’s family and extended family on the recently loss of her grandmother. We had the pleasure of meeting her during the wedding festivities and know she will be very missed.
We have known Rupinder for years. Most of our early encounters with her were on the dance floor! She was always dancing at the weddings. She is absolutely stunning and so incredibly friendly and we hoped that one day we would be lucky enough to shoot her wedding. Rupinder is one of those girls that knows everyone, and those who know her love her. She is truly kind-hearted and selfless.
We are absolutely honoured that we were able to be witnesses to the year of her celebrations with Jatinder. We haven’t gotten to spend quite as much time with him but he is a perfect match for Pins, the kind of guy who will do anything for anyone. Throughout the wedding he wanted to be mindful of anything anyone else needed. And he’s also a great partner for her on the dance floor!!
Rupinder has faced more than her fair share of tragedy, and I was particularly moved by the speech that she gave at her reception. In the face of adversity, including losing some very close family members, she commented that she was loved, and blessed. That despite the losses and challenges, she was surrounded by the love of her friends and family and especially Jatinder, and that made her feel lucky. To have such a positive outlook on life is incredibly inspirational. And I feel lucky that we are able to call these two wonderful people friends.
OK, on to the wedding! The week long celebration took place in Sherwood Park, Edmonton, and Calgary and even though we don’t shoot together anymore, both Michael and I got to both photograph portions of it! I got to road trip to Calgary twice in one week =) Thanks to our second shooter Bruce for being there through it all.

The custom mandap by Jewels and Rays in Rupinder’s home was like nothing that we had ever seen before. It made a perfect backdrop for the events in the home.
An extra special behind the scenes – we had 5 past couples at this wedding (mostly the ladies!), and one that I’ll be shooting next summer!
And here we are hard at work:
