Laura & Joe’s wedding has a really cool small-world subplot to it…we’ll get to that in a minute.

Meet Laura. In a word: stunning.

We met Laura through her friend Stephanie, who’s remarkable Trash the Dress session has graced our walls for months.

So here’s where our subplot starts.  I wasn’t actually at Laura & Joe’s wedding – Michael and our fabulous second shooter Blake did the honours.  The reason I wasn’t there, is that one of my oldest friends Queenie was getting married on the same day.  We went through awkward junior high hair styles, high school drama, and making it in Univeristy together, so there was no way I could miss her wedding.

I did go with Blake to hang out with Joe and his boys getting ready, which was SO much fun (thanks guys!) I can’t quite explain how much fun it was, but let’s just say there were omelettes, a little bit of South Park, and a guy with his own hair straightener.

While I was there, I got a phone call from Michael, who was at the salon (Beauty Lounge on Jasper Ave) with Laura.  And who was with him?  Queenie!  As fate would have it, she was getting ready at the same salon as Laura!  It was really cool for me because I got a chance to talk with Queenie before her wedding, and Michael (who was going to miss it) got to wish her well for us.

Here are the two gorgeous brides getting ready, and the amazing downtown salon.

You can see Queenie’s wedding photos on Perspective Eye’s website (great to meet you Gabe!)

I love this snap Michael got of Laura stepping out of the car.

Laura & Joe’s ceremony and reception were at Blue Meadows, and I love the strong colour theme and decor that transformed the venue.  The bridal party strolled down the aisle to the ‘Pink Panther’ – fun!

Laura & Joe made the fabulous decision to book the Art Gallery of Alberta for their photos (a good choice because the weather was a bit sketchy) – Michael loved working in there and would recommend it to anyone looking for photos with really awesome light and cool architecture.

Major props to Blake for these next two images.  We’re so happy to have her working with us this year.

Everything about this wedding was unique – from the decal on the dance floor to the belly dance performance that wowed the guests.

Congratulations Laura & Joe!  Your wedding was beautiful, and you have been such great clients.

True romance.  That’s the best description I can think of for Britt and Cody’s wedding.  Britt looked amazing in her dress (my favourite of the year so far!), and any little girl seeing her in that dress will dream of her own wedding day, and looking that elegant. Cody, as we found out while watching their slideshow, looks totally ripped under that tuxedo.

Getting ready to walk down the aisle at the Citadel Theatre.

The Citadel is an indoor location with an outdoor feel.  The waterfall, greenery, and even some birds flying about make you feel as though you’re in a lush garden.

Britt is TOO cute, and very happily married.

We found this beautiful shaft of light – isn’t it amazing?

Such a good looking bridal party!  As we were taking these shots, Michael overheard two guys driving by in a truck – one said to the other “That bride is **** sexy!”  We couldn’t agree more.  (Sorry, I can’t say exactly what he said, this is a family blog).

Hot, hot.

I love this one.  Britt models that dress perfectly!

Every bride wants to look as amazing as Britt on her wedding.  This image just blows my mind.

We took the bridal party to O’Byrnes (where Michael and I first met, incidentally!) for some drinks, and fun photos.

Hot, hot, hotter!

This one is SO cool.  Michael took it in the reflection of an ad in one of the booths.

A quick stop for some fairytale river valley photos.

The bridal party enjoyed cigars during the reception.  Cody looks awesome here.

Such a sweet moment during the first dance.

Congrats Britt and Cody!  We had a fabulous time with you and your group. It was a wonderful and romantic wedding.

Rob and Lindsay got married!  Yay!  I introduced Rob and Lindsay a few years ago with the help of Lindsay’s friend Jasmine.  On their special day I got to take their photos, and Jasmine did her make-up.

Oh yeah, and did I mention that I cried like a little girl during their ceremony?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Rob lose his cool (except sometimes during volleyball games), but he was so moved by hearing his cousin play the violin at his wedding rehearsal that he nearly cried.  I’ve never seen him like that.  That simple show of emotion really shows how much he wanted to marry Lindsay the next day, and how much he loves her.  Seeing my good friend like that made me cry, because I was so happy for him.

So here’s me at the ceremony, wiping away the tears that I let flow so freely. I continued during the reception, as he gave a speech to his mom.

On to happier things!  Our little guy Andrew was a ring bearer-in-training.  He’s not quite walking yet, so he got carried in by one of the groomsmen.

Lindsay looked radiant as her proud dad walked her down the aisle of Strathearn United Church.

OK, one last photo of Andrew just because I can.  Isn’t he cute!  Lindsay picked out suits with dinosaur vests and bowties for the ring-bearers.  So cool.

True love.

Two bridal party shots I love.

These two are so into each other.  They couldn’t keep their hands off each other!  It makes our job easy.

The reception was at the Northern Bear Golf Course.  Great food, and a really beautiful atmosphere.

We stole Rob and Lindsay away from the reception as the sun was setting on their beautiful day, the light was amazing, and we got some cool shots.  I have to commend Rob and Lindsay on how romantic they were for these photos (there were about 30 people watching the photo shoot from the clubhouse balcony!)

Oh, the fabulous shoes!  I love how the light is playing with her heel in this one.  Amazing Coach shoes in teal and green, you’ll have to look at our Facebook page for a better view (coming soon).

Congratulations Rob and Lindsay, we hope you are enjoying Disneyland, and we can’t wait to see you when you get back!
