Gurpreet and Param are getting married this year, and we are really looking forward to their wedding. We had an amazing opportunity to go with them to Rexall Place and even checked out the Oilers’ dressing room. Gurpreet has a relative with great connections!

Param laced up his dress shoes in Hemsky’s locker. Does he have a future with the Oilers?

Thank you Gurpreet & Param for the wonderful opportunity! We are looking forward to your wedding. Special thanks to our NAIT student intern, Ashley Urban, for assisting with this shoot.

We got to experience something incredible tonight, and we can’t go to bed without sharing it with all of you.

Romantic lakeshore setting? Check. Friend with a video camera? Check. Photographers? Check. Accapella group? Check. Beautiful engagement ring?  Check.  Everything Nitin needed for a surprise proposal. Nitin and Sameera were taking a casual stroll in Hawrelak Park…

…and stopped to enjoy an acapella group (Epsilon), who was randomly singing by the water’s edge. A husband and wife were playing nearby with their son, and taking photos of him (that would be us)…

…when Nitin jumped in the middle of the group, sang the last two verses of ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’, and proposed!

Sameera had no idea what was coming, and of course said yes.

Her ring is absolutely stunning.

Congratulations Nitin and Sameera! Nitin, thank you so much for including us in your plans, it was a really cool plan, and went off without a hitch. We can’t wait for your wedding next year!

Baby Alexander

May 5, 2009

We travelled down to Calgary to welcome this new little guy into the world. He’s only been here for a week, but has captured so many hearts.

Alexander was incredibly alert throughout the shoot, he wanted to be a part of everything that was going on.

This is one of my favourite images to date. It’s an amazing and fleeting contrast – those little hands don’t stay little for long.

Lenore’s little one will have arrived by the time this post is published – I spent some time with her and her husband just a couple of weeks before her due date.  They had just moved into their new house, but it was already set up to welcome their daughter.

These are great blocks – they are even the Shandro Kids colours.

Now here’s an excited dad-to-be!

Baby Lyndon

May 2, 2009

We met this beautiful baby boy when he was only four days old.  We were told it should be easy to get photos of him sleeping, he sleeps all the time.  We lucked out and arrived to find a wide awake little Lyndon.  He finally conked out by the end of the session. Such a sweet little face, to make your heart melt.  Lyndon is the first of the Shandro Kids babies, and we’re looking forward to many more in the future.

I recently did stock photography for the Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) at one of the hotels in downtown Edmonton.

The photos will be used for a variety of purposes, one of the most exciting is for the AHLA annual report, distributed to hotels owners across the province.

The Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) recently broke ground for a new building in South Edmonton. I captured the editorial photo for the ground-breaking, as well as a few fun shots with the President (Dave Kaiser) and Chair (Doug Shandro) of the AHLA. The images were used for a light-hearted presentation about the ground breaking at the annual convention in Jasper.

Just before Christmas, we moved somewhere much better suited for our growing business.  We moved into a gorgeous home in Terwillegar Gardens!

Here is the entry way.

Just to the left of the entry is a private room for our client meetings.  We love having a home-based business, but wanted an area for our clients to feel welcome but not right in our kitchen.  This house has the perfect layout for that.

The beautiful flower arrangement is by All About Flowers.

Here’s our office, Haley working away!  Yes, the photo is deceptive, it’s not usually that tidy ;)

We have a great big open living room that we’ve used for baby photos, and will be using for the Ben Chrisman workshop we’re hosting.

We love the new space, and we hope you love it too!

Our beautiful assistant Christy has a baby on the way!  She is due any day now, and we can’t wait to meet her little boy or girl.

Christy’s daughter Lilly joined in on the shoot – she’s hoping for a baby sister!  Judging by Lilly and her mommy, we know the new baby is going to be beautiful.

Christy is getting ready for the little one to arrive, the closet is packed with gender-neutral clothes, and the bassinet is just waiting….

Beautiful light was streaming in through a window in Christy’s house – these are two of my favourite photos from the shoot.

This adorable little girl visited our studio for her first photo shoot.  I can’t get over her big, beautiful eyes, she looks like a little doll.

I love the bubbles.

Props are a great idea for any baby shoot. A fun cuddly animal, or baby’s favourite toy.

Everything with babies is real, even when they are SO done with the photo shoot.  Thank you, Paige, for cooperating so long!
