July 27, 2012Shannon & Graham – Save the Date
March 6, 2012We’ve gotten to know Graham quite well over the last couple of years – he is a fantastic electrician who helped us to complete our studio and some other projects in our home. He and his 16 foot ladder were a big hit with our son Andrew this fall. When we met his fiancee Shannon we couldn’t have been happier for Graham. They are such a cute couple! They visited the studio for a session they wanted to use for their save the date cards. They wanted a fun passport photo look since they’re having a destination wedding!
Sonya & Amrik – Edmonton Engagement Photographer
September 3, 2010Sometimes you don’t even have to leave town to be an international photographer. Sonya is here from Chicago to be married next weekend to Amrik, who lives in Vancouver. Needless to say Sonya has been working tirelessly on logistics for this wedding, and I think we should all give her a round of applause for her hard work.
We explored the U of A for their engagement photos. These photos are going to be compiled into a beautiful custom signing album for their wedding.

Robyn & Dan – Engagement Photos in Edmonton
August 5, 2010Robyn & Dan are getting married this weekend in Jasper! Robyn was the winner of our prize in the 25th anniversary issue of Wedding Bells and won an engagement session and guest book from us. Michael met up with them in the river valley.
First, can I just say WOW about Robyn’s legs? Dan is a very lucky man. These two are so cute together.

We hope you two have a fantastic wedding!
Kristy & Pat – Engagement Photos in Evansburg
July 7, 2010We always love the challenge of shooting in new locations. We jumped at the chance to visit Kristy & Pat near their place in Evansburg and we had such an awesome evening with them. It was relaxing to get away from the city for the evening and enjoy nature.

Andrew came along with us on the road trip, and wanted to help out with posing Kristy. He also enjoyed such fun activities as playing with the dogs, and throwing mud, rocks, and sticks into the river.

Bhavya & Michael – Engagement Photos at Peyto Lake
July 6, 2010Michael proposed to Bhavya at Peyto Lake, a beautiful spot in the Rocky Mountains that they had spent time at together. When it came time for their engagement photos with us, Peyto Lake was the perfect choice. We met them there on a beautiful spring weekend to celebrate and recreate the proposal. Watch for their wedding on the blog very soon – they’re getting married next weekend!

Michelle & Greg – Downtown Edmonton Engagement Photos
June 22, 2010This was my favourite engagement shoot of the year so far. As I walked back to my car afterwards I literally did a fist pump in the air because I knew it had gone really well. Michelle & Greg are like a lot of couples – not much experience with have professional photos taken, not sure how to pose/act in front of the camera. But man oh man, did they ever knock it out of the park. I tell my clients just to relax, and trust me, and have a good time. We always make the best images when they do just that.

Phoenix – Engagement Shoot with Justine Miller – Disneyland
February 14, 2010Hi everyone,
We’ve just returned from an amazing relaxing 10 days in Phoenix. Sigh. It was a great way to recharge our batteries and prep for an incredibly busy time meeting with new clients.
Of course, we can’t go anywhere without a camera (or can we? More on that later…) so Michael met up with the incredible Justine Miller from Phoenix to second with her on an engagement shoot with Jenna & Marc (you can see Justine’s blog post of them here).
Here are some of the shots Michael nabbed during the shoot. Hot!!

And here’s Justine working her magic.

Speaking of magic, we went on the craziest road trip ever. It all started with a cold. Andrew had the sniffles and he fell asleep in the car while we were driving to the science center. We decided to keep driving and let him have a good nap. Well, 6 hours later we found ourselves in Disneyland! Here’s an iPhone snap of the wind farms in California.

We had nothing with us. No change of clothes, toiletries….camera…. (Now don’t worry, we had plenty of clothes and diapers for Andrew. At least one of us was prepared!). It was the most spontaneous thing we have done in a long time. We picked up a little Canon from Target, spent the night at a Best Western, and took in Disneyland the next day. It was amazing! It was raining a bit, and so Disneyland was absolutely dead. There were no lines, and we walked right on to every ride. Andrew loved the rides. He would cry when we got off the rides, try to squeeze through barriers to get to more rides, and kept saying ‘ride?, ride?’. We left when Andrew was ready for bed, and drove all night back to Phoenix.
The whole trip was so surreal, and it was a great break from my normal sensible, organized, well-thought-out self. And that’s the story of Andrew’s first trip to Disneyland! Here are a few snapshots.

To cap off the trip, we had a celebrity sighting in the Phoenix airport! This is Michael and Andrew with Nick Stahl, the star of the HBO series Carnivale (sadly, I was watching the luggage at the time, so didn’t get to meet him). For anyone who hasn’t watched this show, I suggest renting it. It was a short-lived series, but like any HBO series, immaculately produced. (And yes, it’s super blurry, Nick’s wife took it on our iPhone – thanks!).

Joanne & Colin – Edmonton Engagement Photos
February 13, 2010Joanne & Colin travelled from Lethbridge to find some nice white snow for their engagement photos. They are SO cute together! I love the nod to the Olympics – I need to get a pair of those gloves! Next time we see these two it will be much warmer, so look for their wedding this summer! Thanks you two for braving the cold with us.

Leanne & Brody – Edmonton Engagement Photographer
September 17, 2009Leanne & Brody are getting married in Kelowna next year, and it sounds like the wedding is going to be incredible. While the weather is still good and the leaves are still (mostly) green, Michael met them for some romantic engagement photos.
