I know one thing for sure – Sharan has seen all of the posts that we’ve posted on this blog since her engagement party at the end of August.  How do I know that? Because I know she’s been waiting anxiously for her own images to appear on here, and has been checking!  Wait no longer Sharan!

Sharan & Sammy had a beautiful party at the Meridian Banquet hall to celebrate their engagement.  I adore the colours and styling of their decor for this party. Their wedding next summer is sure to be elegant and amazing!

Nav & Raj had a fairy tale wedding – complete with a Cinderella carriage!  Nav & Raj are a very generous couple and made a big effort to ensure that everyone else had fun at their wedding.  Michael really enjoyed talking with their friends and family in between the wedding events.

Ceremony: Nanaksar Gurdwara
Reception: Meridian Banquet Hall
Florals: Sugar Blossoms
Cake: Karin’s Festive Foods
Hair & Makeup: Sonia Sajnani
Decor: Exquisite Creations
Cinderella Carriage: MP Stables
Entertainment: Shadow Twins of 3rd Street Beat

Prior to the ceremony and reception, the couple enjoyed ceremonies to prepare for the big day.

Nav & Raj both love to laugh a lot. Their wedding day was a joyous one. Fabulous stylist Sonia Sajnani helped Nav look gorgeous for the wedding.

I love the mehndi design on Nav’s feet.

Nav & Raj also incorporated a ceremony at the Hindu Mandir on their wedding day

Raj had to bargain with his new bride’s family for Nav’s hand, they didn’t let him off easily! For those not familiar with the doli ceremony, the groom pays the bridesmaids to let the bride leave her family home and join him at his family home. The bargaining tends to be crazy and wild (and sometimes loud and messy), and the leaving tends to be very emotional. All of this silly string was sprayed after the negotiation was finished, breaking tradition a little and catching the groom’s side off guard.

Nav had a fairytale departure to Raj’s house, the Cinderella carriage transported the couple to Raj’s family home. Luckily, Nav & Raj only lived one street over from each other, so it was a relatively short journey! The two families are lucky to live close, it ties the families even tighter together.

Watch the Edmonton Journal in the next couple of weeks – they are featuring the story of Nav, Raj, and the Cinderella carriage, with photos from Shandro Photo!

Family and friends from all over the world came to celebrate with Preet & Dal. Preet & Dal are a very stylish couple and there were so many couture touches in their wedding that made it so glamourous.

Preet had this beautiful surprise for me when I arrived at her house – gorgeous Badgley Mischka shoes for her wedding day.

We (and Preet) want to extend a special thank you to Sunita Sumaru for the most amazing week of helping Preet to look her best (not that she needs a lot of help!). Sunita is a warm hearted and bubbly person, and a blast to spend time with.

I was breathless working with Preet. She was our muse for the evening, and I was in love with her dress. She wanted to go in a different direction than traditional reception dress and went with the modern and glam Shantanu and Nikhil couture designer from India. Preet’s dress is straight off the runway. She looked absolutely stunning.

We are lucky enough to have some great former clients who love to talk about us and bring us new clients.  Hardeep’s cousin recommended us for his engagement party. It was awesome to recognize so many guests from different events that we have photographed.

The party was held at the Meridian banquet hall, and the couple chose a few awesome decor touches such as the beautiful white couch for the two of them to sit on during the ceremony.

It’s really beautiful for family and friends to be present and watch the ‘official’ engagement.

Nina & Hardeep will be getting married in Toronto next year, and we hope they have an amazing wedding!

Param & Ronnie’s wedding was a great blend of cultures: East Indian and Carribean. It was really cool to see Ronnie’s family experience the Indian ceremonies for the first time, and for Param’s family to dance to soca music at the reception!

The ladies’ sangeet was the first time for a lot of the family members meeting each other. Crazy colours, crazy dancing, and great food.

Param prepared for the wedding with the manya, chura, and mehndi ceremonies.

The Sikh ceremony was first at Gurdwara Nanaskar, one of the most impressive places of worship we’ve been to.

As Param sat down at the front with Ronnie, he mouthed the word “WOW”. I couldn’t agree more – she looked incredible.

Another wow.

The timing was perfect for canola field pictures, and luckily there was a fantastic one right across from the Gurdwara. We stole Param & Ronnie away after the ceremony for these shots.

The always tearful doli. There’s nothing held back at this ceremony. Pure emotion.

Sunshine greeted the newly married couple at Ronnie’s family home.

Next up, the christian ceremony, at the Millwoods Pentecostal assembly. I was so jealous of Param – two amazing outfits, and she got to marry the man she loves twice!

I think you’ll agree that she is hot, hot, hot!

Fun bridal party session. Check out the group shot of the guys – one of Michael’s best I think!

The reception at Meridian Banquet Hall was awesome, and everyone had fun dancing to the blend of music: bhangra, and soca. You could tell who belonged to which family by the type of music that was playing!

The bridal party did a crazy choreographed dance to Jai Ho!

Param & Ronnie: your infections smiles and warm personalities make everyone around you joyful. Your wedding was a beautiful celebration of your love, and we were so happy to be part of it.
