We have a lot planned over the next year with Ravina and Perry! They just celebrated their fifth anniversary and are expecting their first child later this year. I went to high school with Ravina but we didn’t really know each other. We reconnected at a wedding last year, and ran into each other again after that so we knew we were meant to work together! I can’t wait to meet their content one.

Ravina & Perry – Anniversary portraits
August 7, 2011Sonya & Amrik – Edmonton Engagement Photographer
September 3, 2010Sometimes you don’t even have to leave town to be an international photographer. Sonya is here from Chicago to be married next weekend to Amrik, who lives in Vancouver. Needless to say Sonya has been working tirelessly on logistics for this wedding, and I think we should all give her a round of applause for her hard work.
We explored the U of A for their engagement photos. These photos are going to be compiled into a beautiful custom signing album for their wedding.

Merlin has Graduated! – Edmonton Grad Photography
June 18, 2010We’d like to congratulate Merlin on her graduation from the University of Alberta, and thank her for choosing us to capture the special day for her. Graduation photos are starting to change – you don’t need to have the stiff posed studio portraits anymore – have a bit of fun with it! We have another grad coming up on the blog soon, and we hope to see many more next year.

Joanne & Colin – Edmonton Engagement Photos
February 13, 2010Joanne & Colin travelled from Lethbridge to find some nice white snow for their engagement photos. They are SO cute together! I love the nod to the Olympics – I need to get a pair of those gloves! Next time we see these two it will be much warmer, so look for their wedding this summer! Thanks you two for braving the cold with us.

Carrie & Nick – Edmonton Wedding Photography – Westin Hotel
September 17, 2009Our summer wedding season is winding down, and we’ve had some amazing weddings to finish up (don’t worry, we have much more to come in the winter!)
Carrie & Nick are so loved and supported by their family and friends, and it was heartwarming to watch everyone celebrate with them. When Carrie’s dad stepped to the podium to toast his daughter, I felt emotion welling up. It was an awesome day.
This is SO Carrie.

And so is this. We had an awesome morning at Carrie’s parents’ house getting ready.

The ceremony was at St. Theresa’s Church.

Stylin’.

We had some really beautiful time alone with Carrie & Nick. So sweet together, and so happy to be married.

The reception at the Westin was STUNNING. Every detail was perfection, including the cupcakes by Fuss Cupcakes, and the amazing floral arrangements by Kate Ashton. We sat with Kelly from Kate Ashton at dinner and really enjoyed meeting her – I would recommend checking them out if you are in need of a florist! She even re-arranged the head table arrangement so we could get a better view of Carrie & Nick. That’s what I call service.

This is such a fun cake topper, again – SO Carrie.

Carrie & Nick shared a romantic first dance, complete with onlookers.

Congratulations Carrie & Nick!
Raman & Raja – Edmonton Indian Wedding Photography
September 10, 2009We’ve known Raman for a while now – she was a part of her cousin Ashu’s wedding last year. Her turn to get married came this summer. We felt like we were at a family reunion – it was awesome to see so many familiar faces at the wedding. We were honoured to celebrate with everyone again.
Raja peeked in on Raman getting her Mehndi done.

Raja and his family came from Vancouver for the wedding so they had a combination engagement party/sangeet with both families before the wedding at Meridian Banquet Hall.
Raja’s brother is an awesome dancer!

Raman & Raja each had pre-wedding ceremonies with their families.

We were all up at the crack of dawn to help Raman get ready. I think she looks like a goddess here – amazing.

Michael had a unique perspective while shooting Raja getting ready.

One thing that Raja insisted on for his wedding: he wanted to ride a horse for the Baraat!

The colourful ceremony was held at Ramgharia Gurdwara in Mill Woods.

Married!!

OK, no one mention the Edmonton Oilers – Raja’s going to get mad! Raman’s friends were more willing to give her up than at any other doli I’d seen – all Raja had to do was say, ’Go Oilers Go’ and they were going to give her over! He is a die-hard Vancouver Canucks fan, and wouldn’t go for it though. He was an awesome negotiator – he even went so far as to kidnap Raman’s dog for a ransom…

Raman & Raja: We hope you had a great reception in Vancouver, and wish you all the best in your new life there.
Parmeet & Sonia – Engagement Photography
July 7, 2009It’s easy to see a connection between these two beautiful people. We feel lucky to be a witness to such romance and love.

Katy and Jon were married on a beautiful Friday afternoon. They are very active in their church, and had a large number of guests come to celebrate with them.
Jon and Katy were so happy to make their marriage vows to each other, and from the vows they wrote to each other you could tell they were devoting themselves completely to God and to each other, and the beauty of their marriage will extend far beyond their wedding day.

The University of Alberta is such an incredible place to shoot, we challenge ourselves at every wedding to do something new and different, and the U of A makes it easy. No matter how many times we go there, we always create unique images. These ones of Katy and Jon are easily some of my favourites.

It was free smoothie day at Orange Julius! Katy and Jon had coupons for the whole bridal party (and us!)

To celebrate Jon’s Chinese heritage, a small tea ceremony was held with his closest family members.

The reception was at Blue Meadows, a gorgeous venue available to police officers and their relatives.

We met Dan and Kat from Stone Photo in Vancouver at the wedding! They had left their gear behind (just guests at this one), but Dan couldn’t help but snag our camera for a few shots – he got a great one of us partying (as you may gather from previous blog posts, Michael is a mad dancer!). Great to meet you two!

One last one. As I mentioned, we love to do different things, and try different shots. This is definitely not a typical wedding photo, but we absolutely love it. There’s something a bit mysterious about it.

Congratulations Katy and Jon!
I’m tempted to say that today was one of my favourite shoots ever. The light was delicious and soft and perfect. Dawn and Dan are so connected and so carefree, which made the shoot a breeze. We spent an hour exploring some cool spots at the University of Alberta campus, and celebrating Dawn’s beautiful belly.
Let’s get into some pictures. Yummy.

Aren’t they so cute together?
Â
Our son Andrew came along to supervise the shoot and learn the tricks of the trade.

Belly love.

Here’s me working! Never afraid to get down and dirty for the shot.

And here’s the result….

One last one.

There are going to be many more on our Facebook page soon (you can see them even if you’re not on Facebook!). They all rock. I can’t wait to meet this little baby, it’ll be a cutie pie for sure!
